Our Principles

To optimize health and performance for every individual, it is essential four key areas are exercised in a balanced manner: Mindset, Recovery, Nutrition/Hydration, and Movement. These elements operate interdependently and ultimately have a very powerful influence that may help with optimal gene expression. Mindset, Recovery, Nutrition/Hydration, and Movement alone aren’t enough. But together, and incorporated into daily habits, balancing these four fundamentals serve as a Force Multiplier to help you succeed now—and for life to Feel, Move, and Perform Better.

        TRUST IN RESULTS

It is both our honor and our responsibility to serve people. Our primary goal is to enhance awareness of posture, movement patterns, and problem-solving strategies for diverse interactions with our environment. By focusing on locomotion, resilience, and longevity, we aim to refine how the human body senses, perceives, and interprets sensory input, including the sensory output of pain. We consider the unique ways individuals move and rest within various contexts, working to recalibrate and fine-tune the nervous system, sensory movement, and recovery to optimize human performance tailored to each person’s specific scale and context.

UpRight Movement stands at the cutting edge of human movement and performance training. We are pioneers in redefining how the human body should be viewed and trained, positioning ourselves as leaders in the realm of sensory movement skill development. Our innovative approach takes into account not just the kinesiological aspects of motion, but also the evolutionary roots of our locomotive (Human Bipedalism and Climbing) strategies.

Employing this multi-dimensional approach, we’re able to enhance the overall efficiency of sensory movement. While we don’t claim to diagnose or treat specific injuries, we do empower individuals to self-regulate their nervous systems and become attuned to their sensory experiences. We teach how the human body moves—and sometimes regresses—in its movements, offering personalized restoration of human movement that aligns with an individual’s particular environment and demands.

        "Bio-Tensegrity:

Bio-Tensegrity: Reconceives human biomechanics as a structural symphony, with a tensional network of bones, muscles, and connective tissues creating a dynamic, protective scaffold. This model underscores the skeletal-muscular system’s role in organ protection, fluid conduct, and sensory movement, pivotal in bipedal locomotion and dexterity. It advocates for a holistic approach to health, viewing the body as an interconnected matrix, influencing our understanding of injuries and sensory movement.

Bio-Tensegrity is a concept that describes the biomechanical behavior of the human body. It suggests that the body is a structure where bones float within a tensional network of muscles, connective tissues, and fascia. This model contrasts with the traditional idea where the skeleton is solely responsible for providing structural support.

In Bio-Tensegrity, all vital organ systems are interdependent because the tensional network affects and is affected by every part of the body. For instance, the positioning and sensory movement of the bones and muscles can influence the placement and function of the organs, as well as the flow of fluids and nerve signals throughout the body.

The skeletal-muscular system plays a chief protective role for the organs and nervous system by creating a dynamic framework that absorbs and distributes forces throughout the body. It also supports the primary sensory movement role of bipedal locomotion, which is the ability to move using two legs for walking, running, and jumping. Bipedalism is a defining characteristic of humans and is supported by the structure of our pelvis, legs, and feet, along with the intricate balance of tensions in the musculoskeletal system.

Additionally, the skeletal-muscular system enables secondary sensory movements like brachiation, which involves swinging from limb to limb using the arms, as seen in primates. While not a primary mode of sensory movement for humans, brachiation’s evolutionary remnants are present in our shoulder joints and arm muscles, allowing for a wide range of upper body sensory movements.

This Bio-Tensegrity model has implications for understanding how injuries in one part of the body can affect distant areas, and it underscores the importance of a holistic approach to health and sensory movement practices.
